Calle 16

"With Calle 16, I'm not looking to make a little Mexico. I want a center of pride and culture that reflects who we are as Mexicans living in Arizona. And that's going to start with a few murals," Head Chef of the Barrio Cafe Silvana Salcido Esparza said to Phoenix New Times. With that motivation, she founded the Calle 16 Mural Project. The Facebook page currently has nearly 3000 likes, and dozens of artists participating. Calle 16 is bound to blossom when supported by this much passion and talent, so be sure to keep an eye on it!

TEG Torta Shop- "With over 40 years of combined kitchen experience, we have brought the authentic Torta Sandwich and Mexican street food classics to Phoenix AZ. Our menu features fresh ingredients packed with bold flavors to create a new culinary twist on our signature specialty the torta sandwich and other classics like the Al Pastor taco."- their website.
Juan's Authentic Mexican Food- "Family owned and operated since 1994, Juan's proudly serves authentic, home-made food." - their Facebook.
Realeza Michoacana- "They have the tastiest ice cream and other treats! Everything was in Spanish so we didn't know what was what but we saw people getting some amazing concoctions. We just had ice cream cones and they were great - the ice cream must be homemade because it was rich and creamy."- Google review by Samuel Watson.
Catalina Sports Bar and Grill- "As soon as we walked in we were greeted and treated like family. The place itself is not much to look at but it's the people who make this place great. The food was decent and the drinks were fairly easy on the pocket. 11 bucks for pitcher of Dos Equis? Not bad at all. Can't wait to do it again. "- Google review by Ronald Thomas.
